I just read an article entitled "Zimbabwe: Cholera introduced by West." After listening to freaks like Obama's former pastor blame the US government for starting the AIDS epidemic, I guess neither I nor anyone else should be surprised by garbage like this, but frankly, when coupled with Obama's proposed "Global Poverty Act"--in which, US taxpayers, via the UN (an organization known for being entirely perfect and uncorruptable) will send massive amounts of US dollars around the world--it's getting under my skin more than just a little.
This new statement by the Zimbawean government particularly strikes a nerve with me. A very good friend of mine is currently in Zimbabwe, and has been for nearly two months. This is her fifth trip. Apparently things like schools, sanitation, food, and medical care from "the West" are meaningless to the Zimbabwean government when they can throw around baseless accusations that "the West" is responsible for intentionally starting disease epidemics. The finger is pointed directly at Great Britain, but, the US of course, gets sucked in too.
Here's the quote:
"Cholera is a calculated racist terrorist attack on Zimbabwe by the unrepentant former colonial power which has enlisted support from its American and Western allies so that they invade the country," Ndlovu was quoted as saying."
"Cholera is a calculated racist terrorist attack"--isn't that pretty much what Rev. Wright said about AIDS? No politician tells the whole truth--and sometimes not any of the truth--when running for office. It really makes me wonder if our our president-elect actually believes all this crap. So my friend who is in the country to help kids survive to become adults is an "invader?" Nice.
The US gives billions in aid to Africa. Knowing how much that aid is appreciated, I'd just like to say, "Fine. You all deal with your own issues, and we'll just be happy to keep all of that money in the US and help the folks who need it here." And our incoming president wants us to funnel billions more dollars that direction? NO WAY.
